Wow! I got the penultimate of free stuff!

OK.. I'll start with a story...

My friend (who also happens to be my boss) recently moved into a new house... He's slowly been moving his stuff out of his parents place and was going to finish up today.

At approx 5pm he gave me a call and asked me if I wanted his A1200 tower system because he didn't have enough room in his new place to keep it. (He's house sharing with 3 other people and his bedroom is slightly smaller)

So of course, I said "Sure, that'd be cool!"

So I went over there to bring it home, not really expecting it to be much more than a simple 030 tower system...

I was WRONG! This beast it kitted out to (almost) the max!

Let's see what it contains...

A1200 Rev 1d4 motherboard
Kickstart 3.1
Elbox tower case
Elbox powerflyer interface
Mediator (4 slot)
- Voodoo 3
- Soundblaster 128
- Realtek 10/100 ethernet
Blizzard 060 accelerator (clocked to 66MHz with extra cooling)
SCSI Module for it
2 (yes 2) HD floppy drives
CD-RW and DVD drive
Couple of 40GB HDDs
AmigaOS 3.9

he also had an A2000 keyboard, some mice, a monitor and a few other little goodies too

So overall, a damn good deal

*Does the I got free hardware dance*

Not bad.

I'd be envious but it's only an A1200 after all. ;-)

/me pats his A4000t, A3000T and A2000t :----D

I did tell him that he could sell it on ebay for a lot... But he said he'd rather it went somewhere that he knew it would be well used and well treated

With deals like that..... you know..... you can go off people......

LOL, infact its better its gone to you than some money-orientated collector whom would strip it down for parts..... just to flea-bay the lot with extortionate BINB prices forcing everything else up...

I'm an A4000 lover myself, but that's an extremely nice little set-up for free. Well done to you and your boss!

My main amiga is an A4000 also, was also my 1st real amiga project. Bought it as non-working from ebay for a meager £50 and fixed it up, expanded it and sank about another £1000 into it to get it up to spec.. KS3.1, Cyberstorm MKIII, CyberVision PPC, Algor, X-Surf, Delfina, Buddha, SCSI Drive tower, HDDs etc

Once I've got the system all cleaned up (much dust and dirt) I'll post some piccies
