Male SD to 40-pin/3.5" IDE/PATA Adapter
Do any of you have success with "Male SD to 40-pin/3.5" IDE/PATA Adapter" (a bit down on http://amigamaniac.com/cf_to_ide.html)?
Can't get my A4000 to recognize it, neither on its own or together with a cdrom or harddrive? Have tried with a 2GB SD card. The adapter doesn't have any way to set master/slave? Any ideas, anyone, please? Thanks. |

I have the 44pin version and it works as a dream with 1Gb or less SD cards.
The problem is the (almost) totality of 2Gb & over cards are SDHC, which will not work on the Amiga, nor on this controller. |

Oki, thanks.
It's listed to work with up to 16GB SDHC and it do work in a PC with the 2GB card. But I will try a non SDHC... |

Have tested some more now and have come to the conclusion that it doesn't work in my A2000.
Have tested with a 256MB, 1GB SD and 2GB SDHC. All works in Windows (but only alone on the IDE bus). I give up, should I look for a CF solution instead? |

I have a 44 pin version also -
although on the native IDE i could only get a 32MB card to work - where as via a SCSI-IDE bridge I have had 4GB working (formatted on the CyberSCSI2 as 3.78GB) - under OS3.9 Again - couldn't even get the 512MB KingMax card to play ball on the Native IDE on the unbranded 32MB =( On the A500+ with the GVP SCSI controller the 512MB would be prepared take an install ok, but the 4GB card would crap out - I suspect this could be a controller issue. Its kinda hit an miss - but worth the couple of euros for some experimentation =D I will say that none of the micro-sd adapters (transflash) units worked at all =( |

An A2000 does not have an IDE controller, so such an adapter certainly does not work in an A2000, because there is nothing to connect it to. ;-)
You see, the most important information is missing: which controller do you have? A Buddha by chance? The Buddha is known to have problems with flash storage. If it's a Buddha Flash, you are lucky, because you can upgrade the firmware with this patch: http://aminet.net/package/driver/media/IDEFix_patches If it's not the flash version, you need to burn a new eprom with the updated firmware. |

But maybe it will work in my CD32 + SX-1 that I plan to get started again after 10 years of dormancy. I also have an old A500 with an GVP controller, but have no plans touching that one.... |
