From a collectors POV
What would you rather go for?
A boxed original Commodore A1200 A boxed original Amiga Technologies A1200 I can't decide which tbh, there's not that much in it price wise although the AT 1200 would be NOS which is kind of nice I guess and were a limited run? (I presume less of those were made than the OEM C= version. Ta. |

Aren't the floppy drives a bit dodgy in the AT A1200s though? As in they have trouble running games that have use non-DOS loading systems and stuff?

Machine aside for a moment, I've noticed (online auction) that machines in the original C= boxes seem to be of more value to collectors.
The AT boxes were rather garish to be honest. |

me it always brings back a sense of realism to how things used to be I guess
Anywho thinking back I had the 'Computer Combat' pack A1200 back in 1994 so really after one of those. The AT produced stuff - is that using OEM commodore components/boards/casing or they based on newly produced stuff around that time done by Escom? I know the disc drives were a bit of a lemon but I could live with that if necessary as I'd run everything off CF Last edited by Paul_s; 01 March 2008 at 00:21. |

Well, as far as I know, they produced new cases. This might help to prevent yellowing. I´m not sure about the boards. I sold a towered AT 1200 board in 2001 and can´t remember. But they used Kick 3.1 roms. @Magno Boots: Merry Christmas. |

Hmmm, made me think:
C= A1200 without a moment's thought... ...but having read the (unexpectedly) divided opinion I have to ask myself. 'why?' No good reason, but I'd still prefer a C= one. |
