1. WinUAE - No need to elaborate
2. Winvice - My past relived!
3. Spectaculator - lovely bright speccy colors (and clash ugh!) and so much choice.
4. DOSBox - Oh wow - since 0.70 came out.. this is amazingly speedy
5. Mame - sheer size, accuracy and lovely history detail frontends.

Hmm, isn't there an old thread about this? anyways

Dosbox Ultima, EOTB, full Mt32 support, sbpro.. It's worth some €500 in hardware setup but runs better.

AdvanceMAME - Running great in my arcade cab. Such a cool concept to even emulate a 15hz output of the original arcade screen. Ran my neo-geo next to it and couldn't see any difference. Even the bios boot crap was the same.

NebulaModel 2 - Daaaytooonaaaaaaa, sega rally championship (new in this edition)

winUAE - Great a500 emulation, but will only run on my XP system :/ I'd love 15hz support, nix and all the updates.

VMware - compile, swap environment, get files, get back.. in under 30 seconds. OK, not really emlulation, but close enough.

Yeah, but it's still cool

You can't have too many emulation threads

Nothing like thread emulation to relive those nostalgic old posts

Am I rambling again?

It still doesn't make the games look better so I wouldn't bother with it

Stick with ePSXe and those fine gpu plugins.

But the PSX emulator compatibility is very high, straight from the first release. Pete's execellent GPU plugins doesn't work proper with all games. Both are great. If you have problems with some games in ePSXe, try the PSX emulator.

pSX is much more compatible when compared with ePSx, even with all ePSx plugins. Also with ePSx you'll loose a lot of time on setup per game (I really hate all that plugin crap).

Why can't they just focus on default plugins like PJ64 folks??

PSX and EPSXE are really good...I have both

however I always use EPSXE with PETE opengl plugin 2.8 because games looks better....

I setup a 1600x1200 screen there....with texture fiilters and fullscreen filters+2XSAI..+ pixelshaders.......yes....that's nice

Just finished Spyro 1 and now Im playing Spyro 2 (great games!)

I use also "Eternal" sound plugin because is lot better that one included on EPSXE

bye

Ah, just given pSX a go.
Very,
VERY good.

ePSXe is a pain to set up but as I've gotten used to it I'll stick with it. I couldn't do without all those extra goodies - esp on the GFX front.

Maybe a future pSX could have the option of using the GFX plugins?
.
.
What do you mean that would defeat the point?

Probably not. I've asked the author after the first release. It seems, he doesn't like plugins or even some nice filters.

Only reason I keep EPSXE on there is cos of the analogue controller support which I've never got working in pSX and the improved GFX which does help some games. Otherwise it would have gone ages ago.
