IDE max transfer (CF, Hard disk, FAT95)

Hello.

Im just finishing off my a1200 tower project. I would appreciate some advice.

Q1) I just a installed a 30GB IDE hard disk, to replace a 4gb CF. Is the max transfer value the same as the CF (0x1fe000)?

Q2) I have a IDE CF reader mounted in the front of the tower to allow transfer between other computers (i know this is not hot swappable). I use a 2 gb CF formatted with a FAT file system, and FAT95 to read it on the amiga. Does the max transfer value matter for this CF? If yes where should I change it (HDtoolbox or in the mount list)?

The MaxTransfer value for ATA is 0x1fe00, no matter if CF or real HDD. If you had 1fe000 it was too high already.

Yes, it does. As said above, it is for ATA in general, not for a specific kind of device.

If yes where should I change it (HDtoolbox or in the mount list)?

In the DosDriver or mountlist. You cannot change it in HDToolbox. HDToolbox does not see partitions on this card. It has a PC partition table, not an Amiga partition table. At least this is how it should be if the PC shall access it.
