GBS 8200 vs SCART rgb lcd tv ?

Hi,

I'm currently using my amiga 1200 on an old 1085s monitor. The monitor is a bit "tired" (about 20years of loyal duty) and I'm thinking about using a LCD screen, since I would also like to make other things than just play games (soundtracking, coding, graphics).

I'm currently studying cheap alternative to use my amiga (french) on modern screens. For now, I found 2 possible solutions :

1)using a converter, like the GBS8200 and a vga LCD monitor

2)using a cheap used small sized LCD french tv set, allowing me to plug the amiga via RGB scart.


I'd like to know the pros and cons of each solution.

For solution 1, I'd like to know if I should find a monitor with a native resolution near the amiga hires laced resolution, or if it doesn't matter.

I would also like to know if games (pal) scrollings are good enough, and also the time response ?


Concerning solution 2, more or less the same concerns.

My goal is to obtain a good hires laced (640x512) workbench screen (no blur, stable image, no flick) to work with, and also a good gaming experience (good scrollings, no blur effects, fast response).



My last question is about these hardware scanlines generators. ANyone using it with their amigas ?
