I want to change my username! Possible?

Hello, I just found out that in fact I CAN use my original nick "dex" instead of dex909. There is no other user registered here to that name. Can any admin somehow change my name to dex instead of dex909? This would be very nice!

It would have been easier for me to rename old account...

actually, why can't a user change his own nick ? if you have loooots of free
time you may change my nick also in 'ilm' , wanted to ask it years ago but just
didn't bother asking :-)

Think for a second. It would be a bit confusing if a user could change his/hers username at will. I could become bippym2007, or Fred The Duck 2007 (unlikely

), so better leave it up to mods.

Oh yeah I can just see it... usernames like "XXXX-is-a-Dickhead" and so on the minute two people have a lover's tiff... NOT a good idea!

true, but then again what would stop someone with such intentions from creating a new account

. But with a new account you lose your posting history, thread subscriptions and the like, whereas when an administrator changes the name for you your posts etc. still remain.
