Well, any new software is a bonus. Although I have to say that, if somebody wanted Sonic, they would already have bought it on another platform, so why should they bother with an Amiga version ten years later... even if it was a free download?

Most game ideas have been thought of, and once it's been made there are always a hundred clones or derivatives follow it. Any new game really needs to stand out from the crowd by virtue of being different.

Oh and Wolf... maybe you don't want Quake XXXX, Doom 3 or Half Life 2, but there are millions of people out there who can't wait for it. You seem to forget that the games industry is led squarely by the consumers. If we all wanted 2D racing games and platformers, why aren't they being made? People don't spend good money on games they don't want.

Anyway, good luck to you all on the project, whatever it may be!

Perhaps we should complete Putty Squad using the demo files and the SNES version

Who knows? Might get the real thing to be published

Yes, you're damn right.
But here we're no talking about industry, we're talking about a passion...
And then... you really expect to make a great Amiga game to publish and sell?
Well, why not, but it's a bit presumptuous, don't you think?
I guess there aren't thousand of guys out there running for a new Amiga game (although I'll be one of them! )
However, personally, I prefer much more 2D games than the usually boring and repetitive 3D shooter... You talked about creativity? Then you should reconsider old-gaming...

Well, because we're Amiga fanatics and the game would be on our platform which makes it extra special.

You know what would be cool? A port of Codename: Gordon, the freeware Half-Life 2-inspired platform fan game! It's made in Flash but if you could get the graphics from them it should be possible to port to atleast the A1200.

Hey, seems to be cool!
Thanks for the link, bookmarked!

Very similar to "Metal Slug" series, however...
Or "Ruff'n'Tumble on Amiga!

With an optimized palette and no parallax scrolling, you can fit this even on a vanilla A500, trust me...

NO!!!!!!!!

Ports are not cool!! What would be the point of porting that game to an inferior, old shit machine?

Akira, what you have just said is blasphemous! How dare you.... my gosh... I call for his banishment from this forum for a whole week!

I mean, the game is programmed in Flash of all things! While it may be a good game, how can you call the Amiga inferior to that?

Bah!

Have you seen an Amiga Flash player?

Obviously my post was being sarcastic.

I think I will create a first person shooter for the seXBox. That's where the money's at and in the end, money is all that matters, right?

I'm starting work on the game NOW

Interesting thread. Whatever Akira has in mind, I'm in after August 2004. But make a solid proposal first.
