read but wont write
Hi all,
I have an A1200 that will read floppy disks with no problem at all. However if I try to write to floppy the workbench will go through the motions and everything seems fine.I can format and rename and the workbench floppy icon will change to the new name I have given it.Super.Only thing is - when I remove the disk and reinsert it goes back to to what it's original state and I am back to square one. I have three internal floppy drives and swapping them around leaves me with the same problem.Must be the motherboard? Well I have three spares and if I swap them about I am still left with the same prob.Is there anyone who has had a similar experience or might know what it is? I did put the floppy cable around the wrong way - could that cause it, only with a PC doing that there is no damage done - it just wont read.Yours in hope Dave |
