Amiga Forever 8 plus Multiple Disks

Good Evening,

First and foremost, I am very noob. I purchased the new version of Amiga Forever today and oh boy am I stressed out. I just wanted to play a game(not sure if i can mention which one) which comes as two disk files which i wanted to play on an emulated A600. I managed to get the first disk to run but im completely stuck as it's requesting Disk 2 and i can't get the damn thing to load.

I have ejected Disk 1 from the DF0 and inserted Disk 2 but nothing happens( plus many variations of this)

I have checked the website plus googled the issue which mentions 'fast forward' and 'rewind' buttons, which i cannot see for the life of me.

Any advice? Please explain in simple terms as im clearly not very bright!

Many thanks.

It would be helpful if you mentioned the game that you are trying to play.

Once I know that then I can fire up my acient AF8 and try it.

Sorry I meant, Amiga Forever 8, typo. The game is Alien Breed. I have been corresponding with the Amiga Forever support who cannot get it to work and have been corresponding with the Dream17 site who have the same issue.

Even when i merge the two disk files together via RP9 Toolbox, I still get as far as the game waiting for Disk 2.

After a bit of research it would appear that Alien Breed doesn't recognise DF1 either so the disks need to be swapped on the DF0, which it doesn't seem to accept.

I would love to know if anyone has got this game to work on AF and for the love of god how?

Right, I have managed to get it to run but not in the way that I expected (or hoped).
It works via the WINUAE emulator, using the Cloanto KS roms. The images I used were from the Dream17 website. When the game prompts for Disk 2 (and with Disk 2 inserted), press INSERT (after around five seconds)

I would really like to get it to run from AF but it doesn't won't to load the second disk. It's clearly waiting for its prompt to be executed. Can anyone help with this? Can I map a key that would do a similar job to WINUAE?

Thank you.

Here are 2 RP9's that I use. One is a cracked ADF and the other IPF's.

If using the IPF version then you will need the caps.dll to play.

Use the ctrl key to start game and to acknowledge when you swap in disk 2.

Both work OK for me. I had about 5mins play with each, no crashes.

Thank you very, very much. In the last hour I have managed to get the .ipf plug-in to work plus the game to load. Hurrah for me. Now....the only problem I have is getting the keyboard controls be recognised. I have ticked the keyboard box, mapped the virtual buttons but to no avail. Keyboard doesn't come up via the Port 1 or 2 icons at the bottom but i'm obviously missing something simple.
Many Thanks,
Andy

Sorry, I can't help you with the keyboard. I've had no luck changing anything either, the ok box is always greyed out.

Ask Cloato if they know how it's supposed to work.

You might want to just use the WHDLoad installer for it in the Workbench 3.x environment that AF provides. Probably a lot easier than all the RP9 crap.
