A PC game for Twist!!
It's almost oxymoronic..a clash of titans.
Imagine, our buddy and resident American Amigan, loving a PC game released not in 1992 or so, but 2001!! I bet Twist and all Amiga & Retro loving gamers would have a good chance at liking this lil game. "The Island Of Dr. Malvado" is a cutsie platformer, just up Twist's alley. Colourful and very Amiga-like, but not up to par with the Amiga feel and look, this is a small game that shows there are sane pc game programmers out there. And in my opinio, is vastly more likeable than 99 % of PC games out there. I've included a link to the game, and to the website. Please have a go, I loved it. Next mission: to find a PC shooter for Akira. http://www.abandondata.nl/download.php?i=drmalvado Website: http://gamehouse.netfirms.com/ |

Hmmm...I was very cynical when I saw the name of this thread, but the screenshot is good, I must admit. I'll go check it out, but odds are something on my system(s) won't like it. I'm gonna give it the college try, even if it is against my religion...

OK, I played it. A bit too fast on my machine, but better than an fps. Inertia is a bit loose, so it's easy to die. A long ways from an Amiga platformer, but better than I expected.
I still feel dirty having played a PC game, though. I hope it washes off... |

Yes, of all the computers and consoles I have played, none work as well or have that special "feel"; an indescribable tightness and solidity that the Amiga games have. Without a doubt the greatest gaming rig ever.
But, It's not a bad lil program in the tradition of the Amiga. Whoever made it, nice try. I encourage him to keep it up! I'll fix the link later. Last edited by Fred the Fop; 20 November 2002 at 15:09. |

I think that main character sprite resembles Bubba'n'Stix's main sprite!
But in the theme of Fred's thread, Twistin' you should try & find Broken Sword. Had the Amiga still been around,I'm sure Revolution Software would've done a 'miggy version-it always "felt" like a traditional amiga point'n'click at heart even if it was PC. |

I downloaded this platformer, and I don't like it. The choppy scrolling spoils it.
