They are not clicky at all. They are uncomfortable and their position and way in which you have to apply pressure creates a lot of strain on the back of your thumb/hand.

As I said: try it.
NOwadays I use Slik Stisk and they have the same problem with the button, but I prefer it to any other clicky joystick, I hate clickiness.

And 37p ... come on, did you buy the chip only? It costed me 8€ in the board. I won't say it's expensive though. And yep, for 37p I don't tell you the time

77 orders since in the last 12 months when I joined. Most were less than £2. I'm kinda addicted

37p (38p now, fucking Brexit lol) is for a small board with a couple of surface mount caps/resistors and a 'thing' (oscillator?):

I'm planning a Raspberry PI Zero based clock/radio for my bedroom. 4 digit 7-Segment LED display, small LCD/OLED display for 'stuff', temperature sensor, rotary encoders for control, LM386 audio amp (all working on breadboard). FM was an afterthought. Mostly for podcasts, alarms and who knows what.

Voltage reg is a simple LM317. With a couple of resistors you can drop e.g. 5v to 3.3v.
