Does FS-UAE support SMB shares?

Hi Frode,

I haven't tried it and haven't the chance to try it at the moment. Does FS-UAE (Launcher) support SMB shares?

I want to store all my Amiga related files on my NAS. Is it possible to access these files from FS-UAE (Launcher)?

I know, for Windows I could use network drives, but this doesn't work for Mac OS X out of the box.

Thanks!

Hi, it only works if the shares are accessible through the virtual file system. I.e. on Windows you can mount the share with a drive letter, and on Linux you'd mount the file system with smbfs and get a mount point such as /mnt/mysmbshare.

I don't know how this works on OS X, but I can probably check and report back (someone else may of course chime in as well ).

When I accessed a SMB share via Finder on Mac OS X 10.6, the SMB share was mounted as /Volumes/sharename/. So yes, it should then work fine to use files from that directory with FS-UAE and/or FS-UAE Launcher.

Ok. But this is not really practicable. I must, in this case, every share mount before I start FS-UAE Launcher :-(

But thanks for trying it out!

Well, apart from automatically mounting the shares (http://osxdaily.com/2012/05/04/autom...rive-mac-os-x/) I have no good ideas. I don't think it is likely that I will implement a virtual file system layer in FS-UAE Launcher which can access SMB shares on its own...
