Does WinUAE support multisync video modes?

as I cannot seem to get it to work. My display always ends up looking 'squeezed' horizontally by a factor of 4 (ie: Amiga screen only occupies extreme left hand side of the window I'm running).

I've been playing with video settings for the last 30 mins or so, any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Thats how doublescanned modes currently work. For example 640 doublescan mode is in reality superhires mode with horizontal display ending position set to mid screen. Real monitors automatically scale this "half-image" to fullscreen.

WinUAE does not automatically double the image yet = 1/2 horizontal size, superhires emulation is simple and drops every other pixel = 1/2 again -> 1/4 total horizontal size..

Hi Toni,

Thanks for the info. Any chance this might be looked at in a future version (1.3 would be excellent, but my hopes aren't up as I'm sure you're a busy person).

Thank you.

Possible in distant future. Multiscan-compatible display modes under emulation are quite useless.. Emulated Picasso96 modes are much better.

Quite useless they are not. Useful with word processing, etc. I'm currently using the old E-UAE in Linux, and I'm running AmigaOS 2.04 because I get random freezes with AmigaOS 3.1. Whether it's the OS or not is another question, lol. I'm not interested in emulating a Picasso card anyway.

Ah, great. You said "possible in a distant future" so I wasn't sure whether it had been implemented, haha. I'm not using WinUAE at the moment so...

I think there is many very old threads where I said something like "never going to happen", "completely pointless", "perhaps someday", "in distant future".

Most of them are most likely implemented today

Yeah I've witnessed those comments first hand over the years Master Wilen

...but you always add stuff eventually, if it's worth doing and you have the time free
