Installing 3.9 and 4.1FE - please help!!
Hi.
This is my first post. Im returning to the Amiga scene after a long absence since I (regretfully) sold my Eytech Towered A1200/030 50, 32mb, 2gb, DVD, Zip machine with ethernet, fast ide, etc. running 3.9. I still have the OS 3.9 disc, and since (a little late) discovering that PPC support was available I've been itching to try OS4.1FE but first I thought id install 3.9. I ISO'd the disc and set up, following the instructions below: http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=67429 I can boot workbench 3.1 fine and from the 3.9 iso create the emergency disk, but I'm finding that when I boot the emergency disk the amiga can no longer see the CD (see image) so I gave up and bought OS 4.1 via Cloanto, downloaded the iso and tried that, using the os4 set up on FS-UAE and to my dismay that does the same!! I'm using this: http://amigax1000.blogspot.co.uk/201...-uae-2529.html I've mounted the image on my Mac and it seems fine and correctly labelled I saw another post that suggested setting the config on the cyberstorm by pressing esc on boot but that doesn't work for me either, I can't get into the menu. my config is as follows (for OS4): # FS-UAE configuration saved by FS-UAE Launcher # Last saved: 2016-06-30 19:07:21 [fs-uae] amiga_model = A4000/OS4 cdrom_drive_0 = ClassicInstallCD-53.71.iso cdrom_drive_count = 1 cpuboard_flash_file = cyberstormppc.rom floppy_drive_0 = BootFloppy.adf floppy_image_0 = BootFloppy.adf hard_drive_0 = AmigaOS41.hdf joystick_port_0 = Mouse: Microsoft 5-Button Mouse with IntelliEye(TM) kickstart_ext_file = cyberstormppc.rom kickstart_file = kick310.rom My machine is a 2010 quad i7 iMac with 12gb ram. can anyone assist? Im starting to lose my mind! Thanks |

For AmigaOS 4.1, simplify your config to:
Code:
[fs-uae] amiga_model = A4000/OS4 cdrom_drive_0 = ClassicInstallCD-53.71.iso floppy_drive_0 = BootFloppy.adf floppy_image_0 = BootFloppy.adf hard_drive_0 = AmigaOS41.hdf Depending on the .hdf, you may also need to add: Code:
hard_drive_0_type = rdb |

Yay! It works! Thanks. I copied the config but it still didn't work, but removing the references to the roms fixed it. I never would have thought of that. This hasn't fixed the OS 3.9 installation issue, but I am now able to play with OS 4.1 for the first time. Thanks again. |
