I want to play `Elite`.....Please help !!!

I very new to the UAE scene and have just downloaded the latest windows version along with the kick.rom file required . I then downloaded the adf file `Elite` (some 700kb`s) I have tried everything to get this game to run but it wont !!! I get the standard amiga screen (picture of disk with workbench 1.3 etc) and then tell the floppy drive options that the adf file is located on my A drive (floppy drive on my pc) It then attempts to try and run it (light comes on my pc floppy drive as does it on the amiga screen drive leds) but the amiga screen just goes blank for a split second and then returns . Unless im that thick i can only assume that there is something wrong with the settings as ive tried telling the floppy drive options to look for the adf file in a directory on my pc hard drive but with more or less the same result . I know this game works with a standard A500 512k as i used to own one many moons ago . Please , please would someone put me out of my misery....Elite is all im ever likely to play so this is all i want to run...................Many thanks to anyone who can help .......

Right, to load an adf, bring up the winuae window, click on floppies tab and select the adf file.

If you are already in emulation press F12

Have you actually tried to copy to your hard drive, like to a temp folder and see if it works from there.

Also this should work with an ECS13 config, check out Back To The Roots for more info on WinUAE configs.

Would you believe it all it was was a dodgy download of `Elite` as i re-downloaded it copied it to a blank floppy and it ran first time , boy ,8 sodding hours all because of a dogy download !!!! aaaaagggghhhh !!!! Thanks to all who replied its nice to know there is help out there

Could you perhaps tell me, why you copy the adf to a disk You can play those adf´s from HD with an emulator you know
