It's a Knockout! 2008/09: Final and 3rd Place Play-Off - Turrican

It's a Knockout! 2008/09: Final and 3rd Place Play-Off - Turrican

Starts: 00:01 January 11
Finishes: 23:59 January 17

Finally, from 21 players we're down to 2 (well technically 4 I suppose but let's not get picky). It's now a no-holds-barred fight to the death. Possibly.

Rules

Rules are available here. Super League rules are here; basic rules still apply.

Post a picture of your score here with the score written underneath. Enter as often as you like.

No cheating (including save states) - anyone caught cheating gets disqualified. No continues either.

The winner of the play-off gets the consolation of finishing third in the tournament. The winner of the final gets the fame and glory of being the first champion of It's a Knockout. No pressure.

Have fun and feel free to ask any questions you may have.

Advice @all: Use your grenades - it's the strongest weapon in the game (press <ALT>). And use your mines against the ants in later levels (down + hold fire).

Good joke/quip
If it reassures you, i don't have the level of John4p for this game.
I didn't know that there were grenades in this game; for shame !
Thank you for your advice John4p.

1,849,300 (without grenades)

Thanks mate
I don't have merit, i know this game; i played last year !
But i will not go on the fan sites for know all the tricks.
So i'll try to dig everywhere because i haven't found all lives or secret passages. (see Super League Round 6 threads, 70 lives !?!)
I hope to reach 2,000,000 but i'm not sure to get there, it's almost an insurmountable obstacle.

It's my first try for 2009 but i have played in 2008 and i know lot of tricks.
If you know the first hidden lives in the level 1 (roughly 15) it's enough for see the end imho !
(that would have been a different story with Turrican2)
Starting from scratch i would get the same scores as ElB.

I was so sure I'd finished this before, but it's very similar to T2 so I think I may have got confused in my old age.

Me too
I don't know if i completed Turrican2
Otherwise your last score is good
But you'll have to find more hidden lives to beat my last score

@Turrican3
Bad luck, i already had this bug in the past

My last score: 1,937,300
I hope to do better but i'm not sure to get there !

Get your own Minimig

Shame we couldn't have done t-shirts, or little medals, or something for this compo, nothing major, maybe would have been fun.

That's a cool idea Graham Let's make a little price (I would say a t-shirt) for the winner of the next season and the next knockout I think DH could 'design' it and than we have something really motivating next year
