Some instructions you need to know to run Gods with MT-32/CM-32L support in this tweaked version of DOSBox:
1. Make sure you have all of the aforementioned roms extracted to the main DOSBox directory. 2. In the dosbox.conf file, change this command to the following: mididevice=mt32. 3. In the Gods INSTALL.EXE, set sound device to Roland LAPC-I. 4. Make sure that your cycles count is set around 5000 or so before launching the game. Otherwise, if you try launching with anything higher than 5000 cycles, the MIDI sound would PROBABLY not be able to play back. Core configuration is irrelevant. Either normal or dynamic will work fine. I know I'm repeating myself, but I wanted to clear up some things. |

Well the ingame music is a welcome addition, but the title music blows. You just can't replace the samples with a GM card

but if you select soundblaster you will have the complete Amiga 'soundFX idem with the MT32 intro... it lacks digitalized voices, but again the soundblaster' intro is idem to Amiga it happens the Roland MT32 can't play long digitalized voices or samples it was done only for music and simple and short soundFX The adventage of MT32 VS paula is it have 8 sound channels VS paula only 4 this allow excelent music+ some descent SFX (without distortion/interruptions) |

Another video, the sound is clearer on this one, bit loud in places, jump to 2:40 for game -
[ Show youtube player ]
I recall there was an upload to gods country once of the roland music files provided by RJ or something, so you could listen to the music offline - it's the same music score used in the snes/gen versions. I wonder if there is a way of extracting the music cleanly from this game, perhaps a virtual midi adapter or somin... Q; |

instead of crying in front of the pc dos version...
somebody should try a way to make a gods version with support of cdda. And we could then add music ingame and even music remixes or whatever you want. Please somebody should work on it and we could have new amiga cd32 games with better musics. who could do this ? how difficult it could be ????? ps : a cdda version the cd32 or amiga + cd version should be the best version ever. Think about it and try to support this idea. if many of you ask for this support perhaps somebody will hear the idea and will try to do it, if nobody try louder it will never happen. I tried for time to time to ask about the possibility but alone i can accomplish this, please support the idea and ask for this support and certainly if you have a cd32. |

The PC version is a little bit slower than the amiga or ST or JOTD.
Going from left to right in the opening screen takes 3.8 seconds on the Amiga/ST and JOTD version. On the PC it takes 4.3 seconds. So they run 7% faster than the PC. I like the feeling of the PC version, it's a game to be played on all these platforms. Each one have something different to experience while waiting for Gods 2 one day. Dear Bitmap brothers, especially Mike Montgomery if you read this thread, please make Gods2 |

Would it sell nowadays? Even the good old Amiga version gets stomped on quite a bit in this forum

From what i gathered in forums all over the internet, Gods is the kind of game that polarise people between haters and die hard fans.
Mike puts it on top of the sequels he wants to make from what i read in interviews he made, and he is considering maybe even working now now on an Iphone version first and other platforms to follow. I hope it's made in hand drawn 2D and that we get a Steam version. Who here in EAB would like to play Gods 2 ? I am sure gimbal if the game is good you'll be the first to buy it even if it is just for Amiga 's sake. |
