Anyone using the new GP2X amiga emu?
Its ACE!! currently on vesion 0.7.2a it runs at full speed with sound and can play many games perfect. At the moment im playin team 17s arcade pool but as i have a 4gb disc full of games theres plenty to try out. Anyone else using this emu? at the mo its only emulating a 1.3 amiga 500 but it does the job very well indeed.

Yeh I've been mostly playing Wings on it, it's a very impressive release indeed.

Yay! shame it doesnt support zip files tho and most of the time i get a black screen when loading (usual amiga screen etc) and as theres no track number indicator i have no idea if the game is loading or not. Team 17s arcade pool works great BUT takes literally 5 mins to load.

Me too, I've restarted playing Fury of the Furries. The latest release is fantastic, Can't believe they've got it up to speed (and quite a few didn't think it was possible)
Critical seems keen to take over the reigns again and iron out a few niggles and implement save states so i don't think we've seen the last release just yet PS. Is it me or does save to disk no longer work? |

No you dont, you want a new slimline PSP.
333MHz MIPS CPU, 64Mbyte RAM, 480x270 24-bit LCD, Hardware 3D Accelerator, TV Out, WiFi, Top Mainstream 3D games, Good Homebrew scene Pretty much beats the GP2x on all counts. Last edited by alexh; 08 August 2007 at 14:42. |

Gp2x has 64meg and tv out for the last two years by the way... Back on topic: The arm asm cyclone m68k core really has boosted this emus speed through the roof. |

An open-source handheld running linux, accessible to anyone that cares to write for it? How can you not want that? Mind you, the "spritual successor" to the GP2x, designed and built by the leaders of the 2x community may well be on the way by christmas. The currently leaked specs are rather tasty, and make the PSP look quite, quite weak. D. |

i would get a gp2x if it didnt lack the basics like a bloody d-pad!
thb: i very much doubt the screen will be the same as the one on yours - mine is newer than yours, and i have no complaints about "blur".... i suspect the new model will be better still... no guarentees on that though. Zetr0 - i doubt you have the new "slimline" model though alexh - as much as i love the old hacked psp, i think it will be a while before we see the new slimline model homebrew-enabled. sounds like great work on the emulator. if only there was a decent mips asm 68k core for PSPUAE lack of save-states is a bit silly... as soon as the gp2x uae has it, you can start abusing the function as some of us have been doing on pspuae for a long time now |

GP2x also has it's faults, the thumbstick is crap and the headphone socket is easily broken. Quote:

A1200? on pspuae?? where my friend? i beg to differ! (unless you know of some other amiga emu for psp?)
(68020, ECS however.... its enough for some CD32 games!) Quote:
afaik, uae4all was ported to the PSP "behind the scenes" but was of no improvement over e-uae WIP3 (wip4 is still in progress whilst e-uae revisions are being made btw - HD supports may come with that) |

If there is anything other than the screen of the PSP i want them to release UMD drives... I think this would seriously open up so much stuff!!
just think... a UMD drive instead of a floppy drive on your amiga... awsome! and other hand helds would seriously benefit from a hack or two. |
