New Commodore 64 cases being produced!
Someone who cares now owns the original commodore 64 moulds. A new run of cases is being funded via kick-starter, in three colours.
Get them while their hot! https://www.kickstarter.com/projects...ing-in-new-coo |

If you check the comments, he says that it comes with screws and rubber feet but no badges since they are still copyrighted.
Edit: I would probably buy one if was the original beige or black, but those colors are too 'much'.. Also the white one will not look good when coupled with a regular, perhaps slightly yellowed keyboard. Could be ok with some painted keycaps with fresh decals. |

There are badges, but not Commodore related. They should be something like "Kickstarter edition" or so.

I'm surprised by how many people are opting for the All 3 pledge. What are they planning to put in them (apart from C64s), PCs, FPGA boards, raspberry Pis, 8bit homebrew computers,

Definitely not my choice of colours.
A matte black would have been nice. |

And that's what I've done. Maintained my Commodore 64 for nearly 30 years. This old computer's had 17 new shells and 14 new motherboards in its time.

Do we know if he is going to make future runs with different colors? The white would be the only one I would pick out of the three but as already stated it doesn't match well to the keyboard.
I think he mentions that these colors will not run again but that doesn't mean they won't do other colors, I suppose. Of course if you have an original White Vic-1541 floppy, like I used to have the white would match quite well. I would want a Black one and an Original C64c color. |

From reading the threads title only, one could think of some 3D printed replica.
But that - is just awesome... I wonder if they will make one in the original 2 decades+ yellow tone to replace a broken one as close to original as possible. |

It shouldn't be much of a leap to produce the keys too and sell them as a package should it? That way you could buy a beat up C64 from eBay, pop off the keys and shell and have it looking pristine like it had just rolled off the production line. I want one and I don't even own a C64.
