Games similar to Rome AD 92
Hello folks,
Normally, HOL would provide similar games/clones but does not do for for this one, however I am aware The Adventures of Robin Hood is very similar in the appearance and interface. Are there any other games of this nature - I think the angled view makes the gameplay very slick. Regards, Lesta_SMSC |

Try The Final Battle which has a similar viewpoint and is an adventure game but you don't control the characters directly.
There are, of course, lots of strategy games similar to Populous which have a similar look. |

Gameplay wise Escape from Colditz comes close. ScummVM's engine page telles me those are the only two games that make use of the Robin engine. You could ask the programmer directly: http://stevegrand.wordpress.com/

Escape from Colditz also looks funky! Shame the 'Robin engine' not used in more games. It's very simple yet provides a great level of detail! |

There was a game called Crystal Crusade, that I got from a PD disk because it was mistakenly listed as "Crystal Maze" on the catdisk and I thought it was based on the 1990s gameshow.
Crystal Crusade is that Rome AD92 style isometric. The puzzles were very confusing, though, and I never beat the game. |

I dug out the old disk, and it turns out I'm confusing two different games from 1993!
Crystal Crusade is a sort of Pacman type game. Here are some screenshots. The isometric game I'm thinking of is Crystal Skull. You explore Egyptian pyramids to look for treasure. You have a gun and can shoot anybody, then you can go to the graveyard and raise them again using an artifact that you find early on. |
