547,730 We've changed the scoring system now to reward getting far. For every level that you reach you get 100k bonus (so you start the game right away with 100k). If you get to the final boss you get another 100k bonus. |

Completed !
After a nice end the game loops so, theoretically, we can make an infinite score Nevertheless lives are reset, I had 9 lives and I returned to 6. Score against the final boss: 54,520+6x100,000+100,000 (final boss) = 754,520 Score on 2nd loop (level 5): 100,080 + (700,000+500,000) =1,300,080 final score? |

I think we should limit it to only 1 playthrough since it might become so easy (once you know the game inside-out) that you really could loop it forever otherwise.
So I'm setting 754,520 as your score for now. If lifeschool objects we can change it again. |

Congrats rexsu on the first our game completions. Im not too far behind.
Yes I think it would be a bit pointless to loop the game, as it would be a test of endurance, and time available, and not much skill at that point. btw, Welcome back Harry! great to see you still enjoy these games. |

I don't have an issue with tests of endurance but I don't seem much point in encouraging looping unless the game changes in some way (becoming more difficult or faster or something).
This game has been another surprise. Ocean coin op conversions are mixed in quality and this one is very faithful to the original and plays very well. It kinda even FEELS like an arcade version. Years ago I went to a retro gaming exhibition London (I think I posted here about it) and they had a selection of arcade machines, of which Loki. The chunkiness of it's game play has been translated very well. Fantastic completion by Rexsu. Good to see Harry back in the fight. |

Lifeschool found the perfect solution to the scoring problem. We'll use the system that we used for Risky Woods (a round that I missed) which originates from the Lemon64 compo (was provided by akabei):
If you don't beat level 1 your score is your score. But once you get to level 2 your score counts against you! Then the formula to calculate your score is: (Level * 100k) - score (unnecessary parentheses just to avoid confusion) Example: Harry gets to level 5 with a game score of 50,000 - his score is: 450,000 Lines gets to level 5 with a game score of 35,000 - his score is: 465,000 So it's advised to get as little points as possible now while getting as far as possible (which takes the most skill). Every life lost is a huge advantage because you'll need to defeat more enemies again which means less total score in the end. Only exception: if you can't beat level 1 just try to get as many points as possible. This system is ingenious. I suggest we'll use it for every similar game where you get rewarded by the game's scoring system for screwing up. Last edited by john4p; 07 September 2018 at 21:06. |

3 * 100k - 23020 = 276,980
Hopefully I got that right! Last edited by el_pasi; 02 March 2019 at 15:58. |

5*100k - 43380 = 456.520
I have semi-retired and play only the games I like when I have time. A note to level 3: You can jump on the spike on the ramp going down in level 3. Thats much safer than shooting it. Last edited by Harry; 08 September 2018 at 23:14. |
