Indivision AGA MKI graphical glitches
Please take a look at this video
[ Show youtube player ] I bought this Indivision from a user on the forum a few weeks back and only got it installed a few days ago but I get these problems when using it. I know the monitor is good and so are the 3 indi to vga cables i've tried with it. I've never used a soldering iron so besides basic advice what I need to know is what do you tech types think the fault is and is this fixable? |

My MkII had glitches like that and I reseated it on the Lisa chip and it nearly eliminated them. Also had to change a FBlit setting. I get an occasional glitch on smb transfers from my network storage but not internet downloads. Running Amiga HighGFX monitor and 1024x768 32 color workbench to Indivision AGA 1024x768 @75kHz resolution.
Try reseating and if using FBlit try disabling to test. |

You can try cleaning the lisa chip's pins with isopropanol and an old tooth brush..

Sorry that you are having issues with the indivision.
I never saw it behave that way when I had it. What revision is your mobo, have you tried cleaning it and resetting it? It almost looks like something is interfering with it. |

Reseat it a few times after cleaning Lisa pins with IPA and see how that goes. Common issue on all socket-over-chip stuff.

I have similar problems from time to time and all are related to the connecting socket, after some time I have glitches like that and to solve the problem I need to open the Amiga and reconnect the Indivision and only after some tries it works right again.

I'll try cleaning it and reseating over the bank holiday weekend and report back.

Okay I tried toothbrushing the chip the Indi sits on and waited a while for it to dry (as the Indi would not stay on until it did). Nothing has changed I get the same glitches.
Does anyone have any other ideas? could it be a part that could be easily replaced? |

Do you have another mobo to test it on? or just the 1 a1200.
My mobo was the 1D4 with new capacitors and what ever other fixes AmigaKit do to mobo's. |

Hello I'm new to the forum but I would like to contribute on this discussion.
I have an A1200 with a Blizzard 1230 MKIV and a Indivision AGA MKII. When I first installed the Indivision it started working right at first but after 10 or so minutes it started glitching just as I can see on the posted video. I live in the Caribbean so temps here are HOT! all year long. At first I added a small fan on top of the Indivision AGA, this solved somewhat the glitches but still I was getting some momentary artifacts that appeared ramdonly. So I added a heatsink to the Alice chip and that resolved the issues with video. Now I can play for hours with no glitches at all. Here are some pics of my setup, hope it helps |

I do but it's in a tower right and it has a Mediator blocking access to the video chip to install it. I will take it out soon and try it (it's recently been recapped as well), computer room has been a mess for a while which is why I went a bit quiet on the subject but i've got access to all of my Amiga's again now.
