AHI won't run

So I have downloaded the 4.18 from aminet and from the developers website, after I install it and reboot the Amiga and try to run the prefs nothing happens.

I have an A2000 with Kickstart 3.2.1, OS 3.2. PiStorm Emu68 (lastest nightly build). I also have a AD516 sound card, the AD516 AHI driver is installed; the Studio 16 software sees the board.

If anyone can help me I would appreciate it!

Thanks,

Have you run SnoopDOS before trying to run the preferences program? It should be that a required library is missing.

Is SnoopDOS another app?

So I ran SnoopDos and it says:
Open ----> AHI.info ----> OK
ToolType ----> CREATEICONS ----> fail
ToolType ----> PUBSCREEN ----> fail
ToolType ----> ACTION ----> fail
ChangeDir ----> System:Perfs
Open ----> ENV:Sys/ahi.perfs ----> Read ----> fail
Open ----> ENV:Sys/ahi.perfs ----> Read ----> fail
Load ----> LIBS:muimaster.library ----> fail
Load ----> muimaster.library ----> fail

I didn't see anything in the read me to add/change ahi.perfs so I assumed its there? And I don't know anything about this muimaster.library.

Thanks

You do need MUI installed - this is an old version, no idea if it (or newer) is included in OS 3.2. http://aminet.net/util/libs/mui38usr.lha

Yep, MUI is the framework for the interface it uses. It's not included with the OS, and without it, it can't work. Word of caution: Unpack the mui38usr.lha archive on the Amiga as if you unpack it using WinRAR or similar it likely won't install properly.

when you install ahi 4x, isnt there the option to install the non mui prefs program? should have the option to use BGUI instead of MUI i think.

Yes I confirm, AHI works also without muimaster.library, during the installation "AHI", you have to choose "BGUI version" instead of "MUI version", after the installation you have to copy manually the "bgui.library" in the LIBS of the system. The "bgui.library" is located in the "AHI" archive BGUI folder.
