Indivision 1200 installation problems.
I'm in the process of installing my indivision scan doubler on my 1200. It's the first time I've taken one apart, and I cant figure out how to fit the hard drive back in there.
The scan doubler blocks one of the hard drive's four slots on the mother board, so the hd won't settle in properly. One "leg" rests on the Indivision board. What am I missing? Also, should I cut a chunk out of the RF shield, or put some tape on the sd card to prevent a short? Thanks for your patience, I am an imbecile at this kind of stuff. Thanks, Jamey. |

I have removed my RF Shield completely.
I don't use the Hard Drive caddy inside the A1200 any more. I use a CF Card Hard Drive and CF IDE adaptor and I have made absolutely sure that any part of it is insulated in case it touches the Indivision - I used good quality electrical insulating tape on the CF Card and adaptor - nothing touches either the Indivision or any other component within the A1200. I also used a little of the tape on the Indivision cable as well... This set up has been running like this for ages with no problem. |

Fitting the Indivision in a 1200 case is not quite as easy as it should be, first off it is better if you 'lose' your 2.5/3.5" HD, the HD mount and the upper RF shield. What you need is a CF card as a HD, this free's up some much needed room and also has other benefits. See this thread for one possible mounting solution. Have fun |

I don't know where I saw that thread, but somebody had ordered an A1200 HD from AmigaKit (I think?) with the Indivision pre-installed. Their solution was to leave the HD-cradle (and the metal-shielding) completely away and to screw the HD to the plastic above the connectors on the back of the Miggy.
