Where have all my display modes gone?

Something very strange happened to me today.
I was happily tinkering around in my OS3.9 RTG setup on my A1200/V1200, and everything worked, looked fine and was just great.

And then I did a reset, and the system stopped at the "bat" symbol that you see when powering up.
Later on I found out that the OS was booting into the analog video output. And a few minutes later on I found out that this happened because...

ALL OF MY DISPLAY MODES HAVE GONE...

and I don't have any idea why.

I just get the vanilla ones like 640x200 etc. Even my DBPal ones are gone..

Can anybody tell what might have happened there and how I can repair this?

Thanks already...

What do you mean be display modes have gone? Is Devs:Monitors/ empty now or they aren't started via startup-sequence?

Yep, sounds like either the part of the startup-sequence that deals with monitors has been removed or bypassed, or the DEVS:Monitors drawer itself has been emptied / removed / renamed / moved elsewhere.

Okay, after some research I found out that a lot of very weird things have happened..
Please mind, that I am a complete Amiga OS noob..:

Seems parts of my OS installation went to my PCMCIA-CF card I use for transferring stuff. Usually this card is sticking in there, so I didn't notice this before.

And that card ceased to function, and took my whole system with it. Not only the Devs/monitors stuff, but a couple of other things as well.

Got most of it repaired now, but it took me quite some time...
