A500 and MIDI

Hi,
I am new to this forum and I would like to use my Amiga A500 to create some music. It is a weird A500 because it was shipped with a Rev 8a motherboard and it has 1MB RAM, Fat Agnus 8375 and Kickstart 1.3. Which MIDI applications are the most suitable for this machine? I have read about Startrekker v1.3 and Noisetracker v2.0 (which is based in Soundtracker v2.3). The computer has a TS MIDI interface attached to the serial port for MIDI communication.

Bars'n'Pipes, d00d. Unless of course you want to work with the Amiga's sounds and not your synthesizer's. Noisetracker has limited MIDI support IIRC. No 'Note Off', just reads keypresses basically. Was a long time ago.

Paula and MIDI

Yes, I´d like to use Paula´s sounds controlled by MIDI which means using the Amiga as a MIDI module to be controlled by an external sequencer.

Fat Agnus 8375

Kickstart 1.3

I would not recomend to run Bars N Pipes over a plain A500 without any extensions, it will eat up your memory like hell only for it's heavy GUI. Even if it would work you would still need some memory for those samples, no chance. On Aminet there are a few stand alone tools wich could do the job, without the need of much memory. ProjectMIDI perhabs.. and some other tools. You only have to connect your PC Midi Out to your Amiga Midi in, and then you can control it with such tools. Than you got your minimal Amiga 8bit Sampler like Soundmodule )
