Apollo 4060 - Amiga 4000 REV D CR - 50Mhz oscillator

I bought an Apollo 4060; but unfortunately it doesn't want to run in my A4000 setup.

I've got an A4000 REV D CR board, which doesn't have the 68030, FPU, nor 50Mhz oscillator installed by default.

As far as I understand asynchronous processor boards like the Apollo 4060 require the 50Mhz oscillator to be present (because you have to set the clock jumpers on the A4000 mainboard to INT instead of EXT).

Do I need to buy a special type of 50Mhz oscillator, or would any do?
Is there something else needed besides the 50Mhz oscillator to be able to use the Apollo 4060?

Soldered a 50Mhz oscillator and now the card is working, but only if I disable the RAM on the board

The card is equiped with :
* 128MB 50ns RAM that worked for the previous owner
* 100Mhz oscillator

Any ideas?

Check jumpers I think that card is overclocked to 100 MHz

You might want to change to lower overclock?

Turned out the Ram simms were not all snapped in...
Re-insterted the simms and all is fine now :-)
