Anyone understand Japanese?
Hi, just thought I would break out some import ps1 games today. So I got down my collection of Resident Evil/Biohazard games and Biohazard 1 works fine but when I put in Biohazard 3 i get the standard "This game contains scenes of explicit gore and violence" thing in japanese and then the screen kind of flickers and goes to this message. Obviously I don't speak or understand Japanese so I was hoping someone could tell me what this screen means (See attached photo).
Cheers, Jordan |

Gosh Coze don't have a hissy fit, a small mistake on my part as it was on my server and I forgot to resize. Ok well I just got the answer from a friend in Japan and apparently Biohazard 3 and Dino Crisis (JPN) refuse to work even on a region free Playstation. I would still like to know what this message says though.

Thanks Coze that pretty much verifies what my Japanese friend said. So now I need to purchase a Japanese playstation. Anyone got one for sale?

I got a modded PS1 that will play japanese games (tested with R-Type Delta and Einhänder). I am actually selling it, shipping from Argentina might be a bit expensive but I am not looking for much for it. Let me know.

if you buy a PSOne from Japan they are very small and light, I saw them here for around ¥2,500 yen shipping probably would be around ¥4,000 - 5,000 yen depending on the speed.

Hi, I have a modded PS1 also that plays Japanese games yet it refuses to play Biohazard 3 and Dino Crisis (JPN). I have been speaking to some people about sending a PS1 from Japan and they are going above like £50 which is out of my price range. There was one website that had a boxed PS1 Japanese for £35 but it sold within hours.

You need to fix the game with an anti modchip patch.

You could use an action replay to play games from other regions.

It doesn't work with Action Replay anyways and my console is already modded. As for the Anti-Mod patch I can't do it because the game is original.

Why not just make a bin/cue image of the original disc and apply the ppf patch ?
Your PS is modded so it can read CD-R backups. |

Because (This sounds like I'm being a dick lol)
1. I have no discs 2. It really doesn't Matter Anymore 3. Everytime I burn PS1 game and try and play them either I get a black screen after the logo or half the logo is missing and it freezes there. Anyone know why this is happening? |

To help with 3.
Dump the original (or backup) disc using imgburn for Windows (or cdrdao for linux) and save image to .bin format. Burn the .cue/.bin file at low speed like 2x using dark CD-R media for best results (eg. blue or green). If the disc still fail to load try tilting the PSX 90 degrees and see if it loads ok while holding it "sideways". If it works by tilting the console the laser needs to be calibrated, you can find info how to do that here. Last edited by modrobert; 02 April 2010 at 21:03. |

Thanks man that imgburn is a god send, I have burned PS1 Games with Nero, CloneCD, PowerISO and UltraISO and none of them have worked even when using the exact same settings and media. Yet imgburn does it flawlessly. Thanks again!
