Elite First Encounters and Amiga

I know this game never came out in the end for the Amiga but with games like Quake, Doom and Decent on the Amiga I was just wondering if anyone ported the game to the Amiga in some form or another.

It is practically un-playable on todays PC's as the game runs (of it runs at all) too fast.

DOSbox works but buggy and I found a modified .exe that runs Java but runs the game waaay to quick. So I thought the best route would be to see if an Amiga port ever came out.

Thanks all.

Have you tried to slowdown your CPU with tools like CPU Grabber?

I'm fairly sure there was one (as I'm fairly sure I had it) but these may be better options if you have Windows, as it was horribly bug-ridden.

JJFFE - A reverse engineered .exe that runs fine in XP.

Anisotropic - Similar to the above, but with a few modifications to make things a little more balanced.

There is also an OpenGL version floating about, also fine on XP, but a quick look hasn't come up with anything. Maybe Google will help you there.

For some of these you may require the original PC/Amiga files, which can be found here, along with Elite and FE2 downloads.

Magic, eh. Enjoy.

fairly sure i ran it ok in dosbox

cant think why you'd want to though. it's just Frontier with textures, more bugs, and dodgy home-camera communications screens.

Because of the storyline, nice missions and newpapers were great too read. Really added to the game.

Does anyone know of any modifications and unofficial patches to the Amiga or PC version of Frontier then (pref the Amiga version)?

Thanks for the help.
