Amiga 4000D Audio Amplifier Circuit Replacement
Hi Amigians
I got an Amiga 4000D with a severe audio problem. The previous owner told me, that he tried to fix the damaged circuit because of leaked capacitors. But he really messed up and it looks very, very bad on the whole audio amplifier circuit. I have successfully fixed the same issue on my Amiga 4000D, but this one looks really hopeless! Therefore I wanted to ask, if somebody has already rebuild the amplifier circuit on a small PCB? If so, an Eagle CAD file would be great The best would be a piggyback solution to put onto Paula... I am looking forward for any feedback |

I just replaced the old op-amps and fixed corroded connections using wire.

Can you take a picture? Is it just a messy soldering job or is there severe board damage?

It was bad enough, probably the worst case of capacitor leakage I've ever encountered. Some pads were just gone. I traced the lost traces using the schematics and used short bits of wire to replace the damaged traces.

Yikes! Pretty ugly, but that could still be fixed to a reasonable standard. Just going to be a lot of work, have to strip the parts off and start again

Yes, like I initially mentioned ;-) Therefore, a piggyback solution to put on Paula would be a nice alternative solution. If nobody has designed a PCB yet, I will think about making one by myself as soon as I find some spare time.

There is only left and right audio taken off Paula, the resy will have to be wired unless you want simple amplifier only ...
