i look forward to the weekend to try the stuff!
also some CPS file contains audio samples, they could be even played on diropus
audio sample are not cruncher on amiga, it's SMUS format base with CPS header
(example intro1.cps, intro2.cps,intro3.cps,intro4.cps and intro5.cps)

I will test uncps.Exe

but my problem is to re-pack modified files text.cps & text2.cps with picture containing intro & outro texts translated to see above)

forum, the guy which has done spectaculum in C++ has explained on the forum everything you want to know about eob 1 and 2

it's an error

all 'INTROx.CPS' file don't contain GFX but IFF/SMUS music

and CPS are similar format (same struct between amiga/pc) but not the same ...(amiga decrunched datas are memory bitplans datas not like PC decrunched datas)

I had finished to rip Crunch /Decrunch code of EOB

here the source code

I can now crunch and decrunch all graphics CPS files (except Xanth1.CPS)

So Iam just waiting TEXT & TEST 2 images in Polish, Italian & French
use PNG or IFF format and sent to me the result.

I will can quickly send toyou new text.CPS and Text2.cps files in your native langage

PS:
Marco, you uncps.Exe work fine but can't crunch datas

I assume those are the names of the files in the game (right now I can not check it). You need us to draw those pictures BUT not with the text in english but in our native language. What type of font is used there?

What about the pictures you attached? You need translations of them too?

But do I have to DRAW them and send them to you as IFF files (packed with tools you submited) or you just need ASCII TEXT files of words which are there?

Can you DRAW it please?

i am no times to do it , but if you have no times too , send me just ascii translation (perhaps another guy or me later would do the work

ps: i can't do all work, it's difficult to found times to whdload's support and another translation works... (more over if many people interested i will try in a first step to done intro/outro in AGA using PC DATAS)

ps:
Have you an idea about polish support with Lowlevel.library?
I try to support automatic langage selection using this library (for whdload's patch only but.... perhaps withan aga version )

Yes I will draw it. Your last e-mail sorted something which was not clear for me. But now everything is OK and I think you should receive the files in an hour.

I must say that you are doing excellent job!

Sorry but I will not make it today. It is pretty difficult to find a proper font. But I come up with the idea how to work around the problem. Unfortunately it will not be as quick as I thought. The work is progressing and I will send you files probably tommorow or on Wednesday.

i think that you will have to save the palette used in the original file if you are working on pc... i've just had a quick check on westpack: the pc and amiga image files not only have a different palette, but are also 1)different (yeah i'm dumb) 2) the right palette is called right only in pc files, amiga is quite hectic, and you have to mutuate it from other grafic files

DLSILVER phoned me yesterday about it, it seems he had already extracted datas with good palette using westpak2....

anothers news LEVELx.INF data contain also texts to translate and i have a good news all files are same format like like CPS..... and I can unpack / packed it

I have just to ressource it (but it's more difficult like for TEXT.DAT file because this files contain not only text datas...

ps: I have successfully ressourced main files EOB & EOB1 (but not EOB2 for the moment but i have some idea for this...)

@CFou

Have you considered releasing the packer/depacker as exe files? It could be useful for a normal user. Not everybody is so advanced in ASM

Can you use joined IFF files with good picture format for the transations?

My apologize but you CAN'T use previous PNG files

because it's 256 colors files and if you convert it in IFF 32 colors palette colors are shifted

If you write a RAW file (in ppaint) i COUGHT NOT USE it to do CPS file without an hard and long conversion of bitplan structure....

I hope you understand my reason...

(Indeed joined ilbm/iff picture use amiga game palette with decunched TEXT.CPS datas)

ps:
It's normal if text2.iff palette are bad (it's not a problem i need only good bitplan structure)
