Apidya WT version
Has someone ever managed to get the TOSEC version
Apidya (1992)(Play Byte)(Disk 1 of 2)[cr WT][b] to work in WinUAE or real machine? |

Can't get it to work on WinUAE. Hopefully Don Adan remembers what the requirements are.

Just tried my best to get it working in E-UAE, it guru's after the AUDIOS logo on every configuration I tried.
It seems to be doing some strange things: Illegal instruction: 00fd at 0005c30c -> 00fc081c cia_wget: unknown CIA address 4ca233fc PC=fc16a2 cia_wget: unknown CIA address 4ca233fe PC=fc16a2 cia_wget: unknown CIA address 4ca23406 PC=fc16a6 cia_wget: unknown CIA address 4ca23408 PC=fc16a6 |

Probably broken image (bad compressed data).
Decompression overwrites important code and data. |

It seems to work kind of in an A1200 WinUAE config. It will Guru after the Auidos logo, but after it reboots and it will work.

Compressed data is fine (RNC) but loader seems to assume something not guaranteed about disk's low level "geometry". (gap length or sectors' relative position between tracks, data that is always the same on standard adfs)
It is possible it loads better if it is written to real disk and then imaged to extended adf |

Bad idea. As I said it depends on disk "geometry" (which depends on program used to write it) and/or rotation position.
Both are always the exact same when using normal adfs (so that problems can be reproduced easily), not random. Any disk related change can fix or break this kind of bad loader. ("bad" as in 1 in 1000 or so chance of problem happening with "proper" randomizing) EDIT: it does not crash after reboot because in place of missing data (loader does not load last 2 or so blocks) is now non-zero data which does not confuse unpacker too badly. Unpacked data of course isn't 100% correct. Last edited by Toni Wilen; 30 April 2011 at 21:01. |

I would just leave it as bad, it is an extremely poor quality release and should be avoided..

Two versions for disk and for HD. I don't remember exactly, but perhaps HD install works only for original Apidya '94 disks. |
