What a top guy you are to ask rather than just doing it to everyone regardless.

I'll bet you have shelled out quite a bit in the past, it's only right we all find some way to support you going forward.

I think you'll get quite a few joining this group over the next week or so but then the pick up will die down. If I were you I'd send a group PM to all the none members asking them if they'd like to join, I'm sure they won't mind as they have probably just missed this thread and not understood what the Golden Thumb is about.

I'd ask all new members if they don't want to join they can opted out, but make membership the default rather than a later option.

I have changed the "join usergroup" process to one simple (Yes / No) option on your profile page
This way, new members can simply choose what they prefer when registering.

I already migrated the 55 members who joined the "EAB Supporter!" usergroup
Side effect, you can now see us in the member search engine.
