Once you have set up a stable HstWB HDF, is there an easy way to update whdload games via script?

On a mediocre PC, The scanning of "all" WHDLoad Games,Demo's & Beta takes 24hrs..
There has to be a way to update the games without the headache of re scanning |

Extracting a complete set of WHDload Games alone on my 10/11 year old PC takes much longer, roughly about 3 or 4 hours and that is even when hstWB flys through the process.

Can someone verify wether the HstWB Scanner picks up the English version of Shadow Sorcerer?
For me it only picked up the multi language non English version in AGS,HstWB & iGame yet the game is perfectly located in the HDF itself and can boot from WB easily.. |

I performed an "Install all" option, and it avoided Shadow Sorcerer English.. Do you know why? and are there any other games the scanner has missed that you know of ?

Nope, sorry and I bet it's a pain in the arse to find out too. Would need to go through every whdload game and match it to what it installed and no one has time for that.

Nah no need... This was brought up to me by a friend. I was just curious and resulted in the scanner not programmed to pick this game up for some reason..
Maybe the dev should be told about it... In the meantime any missing game, can be easily launched from WB anyway |

Hi.
EDIT: It's working now. Not sure what mistakes I made the first time, but now I can hold right mouse button and configure the scsi drive and it boots fine. I installed picasso96 but, since with my cybervision64 it would not work. So anyone with that card, I would suggest install picasso96 on the amiga. I followed a guide I saw on youtube for how to use this installer. And it works in winuae, everything boots up fine when I am done installing. But when I write the image file to cf card, my amiga 4000 will not boot, it just asks for floppy disk. If I hold down right mouse button I get to shell. I get the error "Requestlist: Unknown command requestlist failed returncode 10 set failed returncode 10" I type in loadwb and workbench loads, but the picasso screen mode does not work and, it doesn't have the "userpackdir, kickstartdir, amigaosdir" on the workbench screen. I tried with a 4gb cf card and 16sd card with adapter. This should work on an Amiga 4000? Last edited by UncleAwesome; 11 October 2020 at 01:06. |

In WInUAE its there and works, but put it in my Amiga 1200 it dosent show up, WHDload works, workbench loads, it just wont let me format that part.

Probably to do with drive geometry.
Once you put the card into your real Amiga, run HDToolbox again, get the correct drive information and save. See this video where he talks about the issue: [ Show youtube player ] 5:17 --> 5:58. Last edited by DamienD; 21 November 2020 at 17:03. |

It's funny you mention that video, as there is something else he does on that part of the tutorial I have a questions about. He adds PFS3AIO file system. I just wondering is it possible for the HstWB installed script to do PFS3AIO? It only seems to do FFS from the builds I have created using it. I gather I am unable to add the filesystem once I've created and installation right? I'd need to start from scratch yes?

Never mind, I worked out how to do it by formatting a card as PFS3-AIO and then copying everything over from an OS3.1.4 hardfile.

User Packages error during Install
Thank you @cyberhead97 from this great tool!
I have been using it for quite some time, no problems so far. I prefer Installer itself but Self Install images where OK when needed. This week decided at last to update to the last stable 1.4.2 and I encountered an issue: during installation I get the same message as this: http://eab.abime.net/showpost.php?p=...&postcount=245 Having no clue about what was missing, I searched and copied the file Prepare-User-Packages from the folder Amiga/userpackages/S of my previous Installer folder (v1.2.0) to the relative folder of 1.4.2 version. I did the same for the folder ENV in the Amiga/userpackageinstallation folder. Now everything works OK but I don't know if this was the correct way to fix the issue or not. Maybe something else is needed too? The result works OK on emulator and real Amiga so far. Using prebuid self install images has no issue at all, it' just that I prefer Installer itlself! |
