looking for a tune....
I remember a .MOD file that I got from a British Amiga magazine, it had vocal samples from the movie Dragnet in it, one of the samples that I rembember is "we're Police officers ma'am". I've been searching for months for this, it's not Dragnet.mod, lol

Don't remember that one, sorry.
But, have you tried http://modarchive.org/index.php? You can search by: File name or Title File name and Title File name only Title only Instrument Text Comment Text You can also narrow the search to only include .mod files within the filtered search. Might be worth a try? I attempted a search of 'Instrument Text - police officers' and filtered to show only mod files and came up with 22 hits... Without knowing anything else about the module you're looking for, I've no idea if it's any of them, but if you try, the name might ring a bell for you? Edit: Also tried 'Instrument Text - dragnet' and filtered to show only mod files and came up with 10 hits. |

If the MOD you're after has the classic Dragnet "durr-durr-DURR DURR" fanfare bit in it along with the speech samples, then I know it - but I'm damned if I can find it! I seem to recall a "Dragnet Demo" circa mid to late 1989 by a UK group, but can find no evidence of it anywhere. In the world.
Things (from memory) that might help in your search... The demo itself - was it made by Slipstream? Maybe later into 1990, so possibly Anarchy? Mayhem? I'm leaning more towards Slipstream... was it on an SAE demodisk? Who made the MOD - I'm thinking Dan/Gorbash? Could have been 4-Mat, but it's more in the (sample-heavy) style of Rogue Male... Having not heard it for about 25 years, it's hard to say! Good luck finding it, be sure to report back :-) |
