I remember seeing a F.A.S.T. advert in one of my Commodore Format issues... I still have some issues of that mag, so I would be able to scan the one I remember for you (not sure if it's the same one you're talking about)... except I don't have access to a scanner right now. Darn.

advert!
I remember acting out the cartoon strip with my mates when we swapped warez!
One of us would always exclaim, "Wait! These are copied disks!" Mind you, we were 16 at the time! |

Yeah, me and my mates did exactly the same thing..
Hi John!, Look at all this software I got. etc.... Thing is, we went one step further and we scanned in the picture AND sampled ourselves 'acting' it. We were intending to release it as a demo entitled 'No So Fast' I have still got the wip disk (and its converted to adf) but I have never released it due to sheer embarassement! You wouldnt want it anyway, would you? |

I have a copy
Hold on! I have an issue of CU Amiga (July 1991) by hand which has a black-n-white FAST comic strip. It has a geek sitting in front of a computer who just wants to copy the latest games.
With some luck I will post this advert Friday when my scanner is accepted again by Winblows XP (see WindowsXPerience -thread). |

Sounds like an interesting strip. Were there many of them?

Scanned advert
I don’t want to bore you with the trouble I’ve had to get my scanner accepted under Winblows XP again, but finally I have managed to scan the political correct F.A.S.T.-advert.
@Drake: I only know the version that is attached to this message. |

You know, these lame ass 80's ads remind me of the pathetic "Just Say No" campaign of the 80's by Nancy Reagan, wife of then president Ronald Reagan. The co spokeswoman was Whitney Houston, a known user of cocaine and pot now. And in the 70's, it was Elvis who was "deputized" by President Richard Nixon as an honorary drug enforcement agent.
If the heads of our nation were/are so out of touch...kids are in for big trouble. I find these "shallow, homogenized, morals", so unique to western and especially american "culture" pathetic. |

And you only got the money in the event of a successful conviction, which hardly ever happened!

Hehe, yeah.. I'd like to see that disk too.
I remember the Bloggo one vaguely (although I'm also getting it confused in my head with the dodgy anti-piracy ad you find on video tapes "Verbal contract? Ain't worth the paper it's printed on. Trainspotting!" etc). Heh, $1000. I remember being told that they almost never gave out that reward money. They only gave it out if your information led *directly* to a conviction or somesuch. |

Ok ok.. I will up it when I get home tonight
I had a look at the disk and its far from complete.. Just has some audio sample files and pictures on it plus some source code which never worked as far as I can remember. You will probably need to look at the pictures with iff-conveter. |
