Amiga A3000 Floppy Drive Question
i recently replaced my FZ-354 with an FZ-357A in my A3000 and it works great, both low density and high density.
i came across another FZ-357A and decided to put a second FZ-357A into the same A3000. I made sure one drive was at DS0 and one at DS1, with DS0 being connected to the cable end with the twist and DS1 with the straight thru connector. both drives are recognized and working fine, but when i put a disk into DS1, both drive lights illuminate during activity, only DS0 illuminates when only using DS0, its only during access with DS1 do both drive lights illuminate. so i am not sure if this is supposed to be normal internal drive characteristics or not, anyone know for sure? the drives both work fine in low density and high density other than the drive light behaviour. so any info is appreciated. //kneehighspy |

Wires 4-6 need to be twisted in the floppy cable. If they already are, try to have ds1 at the end and ds0 in the middle.

DS0 should be on the straight cable and DS1 after the twist. And as Jope suggests, the twist on an Amiga floppy cable is not the same twist as on a PC floppy cable.
