Amiga PreConfigs OS

So firstly guys are these all of them?

Amikit
ClassicWB
BetterWB
AmigaSYS
CoffinOS (vampire based)
Amiga in a Box
AmigaOS 3.5/3.9 (kind of?)

Which is the best and why?

I played around with Amikit XE, it a pretty good and just wanted to know which you feel is the best and most well developed / supported Preconfigs (is that even the term for these OS?) for emulation. I might comit and make one my main go to Amiga on my PC, as at the moment I just go on my X1000 OS4 for most of my Amiga fix and then just play the odd game on my PC, but would like maybe a main emulated system setup, I do have my old Amiga setup wich is basically AmigaOS3.9, but looking for more. cheers

For me it's ClassicWB

...but I should really also give BetterWB a whirl sometime.

I have an old Acer ZG5 netbook that I set up with AspireOS (an AROS derived OS) (does that count?)

You Have BestWB, which is BetterWB for 3.1.4 and BestWB 2.0 for upcoming 3.2.

Amiga PreConfigs OS

There's also a couple of other flavours of AROS - IcAros and TinyAros

I did a bit of research for my site

http://amigang.com/software-amiga-pre-configs/

kinda of not really including Aros, but thanks for the suggestions.

I remember using Amiga in a box years ago. Think its long dead now though, but not sure to be honest.

If I need a preinstall WB environment I tend to lean towards ClassicWB as it covers multiple hardware setups and OS3.9 but have to admit I've not tried BetterWB.

I have an iBook sitting here since February that was meant to get MorphOS, just not had time to look at it yet!

I bought AmiKit XE and it's okay but I don't really like the feel of it -- it feels like I can't really customize anything to fit my needs and desires without potentially breaking everything. That's probably not the actual case, but it's certainly how it projects itself to me.

I'm looking forward to the new AmigaSYS that apparently will get released some time this year. Certainly the version that comes with Amiga Forever is pretty outdated. On the other hand, it feels like I can customize it and update parts of it without bringing down a whole house of cards.

You have also AfAWB as an Amiga PreConfigs OS. It is maybe still on the File Server in my ~Uploads folder.
