That is pretty slow I would have hoped 3MB/sec or more. At this speed you'd be better off using the internal IDE port which can top out at 2.8 to 3MB/sec.

I get 4.7mb/sec in OS3.9 from the FastATA benchmarked with sysinfo. I thought OS4 supported the FastATA out of the box, maybe it needs a driver? Steve. |

; The IDE scsi.device can not autodetect IDEFix/IDEFix97/IDEFix Express ; IDE port doubler hardware. When you have such hardware installed, ; uncomment the following line by removing the leading semicolon, ; then the IDE scsi.device can use IDE drives on the second IDE port. ; CAUTION: Dont forget to add the semicolon again before removing the ; IDEFix or compatible IDE port doubler hardware or your machine may ; not boot anymore! ; ;MODULE Kickstart/A4000/ATAPIismajik ; ; So make sure you uncomment that, but it may only apply to IDE drives on the second port....so if your drive is already being "seen" and it's on the first port then you're probably already OK :-) Or maybe it doesn't apply at all to the Elbox FastATA... |

But isn't fitzie using FastATA on an A1200?
Check kicklayout carefully to enable the right module - and in the process disable all modules you don't need (faster booting, more memory available ) As a side note: I got an IDEfix Express for me replacing my previously owned FastATA, that was because I wanted to use a Lyra KB adapter. |
