Floppy disk New Original Amiga 500 Drivesound for WinUAE (Updated Version)

Whats new : Better drive acoustics, slightly more amplified so that all 80 sectors/tracks sounds good in x-copy diskcheck.

http://.com/files/56156607...sound.zip.html

1. Unpack the UAE_DATA folder to your WinUAE directory.

2. Start WinUAE

3.Make sure that the WinUAE sound settings are set correctly, only use the frequency of 44100. And channel mode only set to either MONO or STEREO. Otherwise you may hear strange frequency noises.

4.Really make sure you enable "Cycle-exact" at the Chipset menu. This will make the floppy drive sound alot like the real Amiga 500 especially at the heavy-loading parts.

5.Of course its best to listen at floppy drive emulation speed of 100% (compatible).

6.Select "A500Real" in the WinUAE sound menu, At the floppydrive sound emulation dropdown box.

Note : Sometimes the drive-spin sound does not work and you will only hear driveclicks. In that case press the Reset button in WinUAE again to re-enable this sound.

This Drivesound-package should work without problems on WinUAE 1.4.3, If it doesnt work then i don't know either.

Works perfectly here! Good job

It sounds more to me like the (my?) old external drive so I've set it as the DF1: sound and kept the original DF0:

But ace nonetheless

My DF0: sounds exactly like that soundpackage except when it quickly spins sectors from 0-80 and back then it sounds more soft on the real Amiga 500 compared to WinUAE.

It has probably to do with different brands/types of floppy drives released on different revisions of the Amiga 500.

Mine is a Revision 6A.

There is no single "real" a500 floppy sound, too many different drive mechanisms etc
