Is Atari VCS2600 paddle controller used to play breakout back in the days useable with games like Arkanoid on the amiga instead of the mouse?

I don't think so. I think I plugging a pair into an Amiga once and they did nothing. Perhaps they could be read with special drivers or some of the pins swapped to make them work.

Does anyone know a single game for the Amiga with paddle support?

I was just saying, Atari joystick controllers are compatible with Amiga joystick control. So maybe paddle could work.

Some Amiga games with analog control support may work. Some racing games or flight sims. Probably won't make sense to do it though.

This is really a good idea.
When I get to write the support for CD32 pad for WHDLoad, I'll add that too.

IIRC, the Atari paddles work by splitting the directional axes. Thus, Paddle 1 of a pair uses something like the X direction pin(s) of the joystick port and Paddle 2 uses Y. The game would need to be programmed to handle the paddles in order to work.

Yep, they use the analogue connections, but not many games support these. Paddles are even mentioned in the developer docs. After all, an analogue joystick (in Amiga terms anyway) is just two paddles bolted to a stick at right angles...

If I plug it to a retrocontroller would that be possible for winuae to emulate that properly?
I would love to patch whdload slaves like arkanoid so they use the paddle. Would be almost 100% close to the arcade version. Mouse doent cut it imho

Any USB gamepad with stick or PC analog joystick works, anything that is analog-like (not on/off d-pad). Map it as an analog Amiga joystick using gameports panel. (paddle = single analog stick axis).

Note that you most likely need calibration function to support all real hardware compatible analog sticks/paddles.
