Amiga Coverdisks
I'll ask this question before i put it to bed and get on with normal amiga things.
Amiga User International - coverdisks. From number 50 onwards unsure if earlier ones are affected, i think not. Can someone load any superdisk they have from #50 onwards and tell me. The geometry of the disk here. Its said possibly AUI used a modified copy process to do these disks. Not to 12bpt i'm sure they didn't. Correct me if i'm wronf 11bpt only and the two AUI disks can be run at ados to uncompree to hd or other floppies. So they just disks with archives on them. Superdisk being ndos via its bootblock. I have some of these disks sadly back then i imaged them with disksqueeze gui that uses lzx, packdev and diskspare.device 12bpt. These disks i belive have had it now. As no where i find any way back to 11bpt. Ok copy the files to another disk, but no original disk. Its more curious to know what the superdisks geometry was, than anything else. Maybe the aui archive get completed. |

We only have a few AUI disks dumped, some of them use the DiskSpare format.
It's 12 blocks, 512 bytes each. Nothing in common with ADOS. |

Troublesome disks then, after imaging later how can user put them back onto floppy discs using their amiga drives! Even adf doesn't have support for 12bpt atm.
Some unmodified original disks (all disks write i protected from new) are on magix ftp. Now uploaded to magix users/exoticaga They are all dsq images thankfully the only dsq images i have (i think). Haven't a real amiga, use WinUAE only. Didn't convert with WinUAE as i understand they need to go back to amiga floppy to be converted to be uploaded correctly. Nevermind the images are there for you now. And for others to use with disksqueeze and diskspare untillthey become available through correct channels as official images. Er... if you dumped original disks that would be of interest to us then please do get in contact.
Uploading them to any ftp etc will not get them to us for sure. Please note that we only ever accept disks dumped with our dumping tool as it contains all the necessary timing and data information of a disk that other dumps do not. |

Sorry no amiga hardware or original disks now. But maybe this has gained some interest for others to get this collection together, and may even find the coverdisk cd. Keep up the hard work you all do, for us all.
