New A4000 PSUs? For Team17 restoration

Hi guys, I'm working on fully intact Team17 A4000s used on Worms 1. I've found some amazing things in the intact hard disks. I've even been able to change and re-render the cut scenes from the game in Lightwave!

But one machine has a fried PSU. I can't see any replacements on eBay. What are my options? ?

Image the drives and play with them in WinUAE.

But it looks like it's possible to hack an easily-available PC ATX power supply to work, see atx_psu on Aminet. Of course that wouldn't be a direct, cosmetically-good-looking replacement.

Amigakit sell an ATX adapter cable for £13.99.

You can buy an SFX power supply and use this 3d printed mount to install it. Some of the Sonnet weirdos are using the Corsair SF-450 to good effect in an A4000.

The other option is to remove the guts from an ATX power supply and transplant them into the A4000 PSU shell. Not terribly difficult, but finding one that is the exact right shape might be a challenge.

The other other option is to get your PSU repaired. Acill in the US is reputable. Or look on Amibay but you'll probably not find one that is cheap, is 110V, and doesn't need repair too.

I used a small AT PSU for a year or two in my A4000, using a home-made adapter.

Wow, they really have gone up in price. I paid $80 for mine. I should have bought two.

An Atx-A4000 plug (ordered a quality one from DJCook on Amibay for 15 euro or so) plus a PicoPSU?

If you're going to use a PicoPSU, you'll also need an extra power brick to provide the low voltage supply. At that rate, going for an industrial PSU module like a Meanwell or similar would probably be cheaper. The PicoPSU's advantage is the small size, and space isn't really an issue inside the A4000.

Mine was 75 and I only ordered it a few weeks ago. the 3d print works well, that is now what is in my A4000. highly recommended.
