Amiga T-shirts arriving all around the globe

Heh, got my Club/I Am/whatever Amiga T-shirt today..

The one I paid $50 for way back when.

Who else loaned money to them back in the day?

Someone here doesn't know?-)

The whole affair was about a "$50 off OS4 coupon" with t-shirt..

Then they changed it to an Amiga Club, because they found that the original scheme was illegal in some place. We got a few club newsletters with the usual enthusiastic future visions, then those stopped coming.

Basically the Amiga Inc that existed then stole our money, we never got anything concrete back from them. I understand the shirts that we now got came from KMOS, the current owner of Amiga Inc and the OS4 rights..

Oh, and naturally there is no guarantee that the $50 coupons will ever be rebated by anyone. Live and learn, I really honestly thought that the new Amiga Inc was up to some good and gave them my money.

The whole story is too long to recap here, but I'm sure there's plenty be read on the internet's many Amiga related forums.

Actually I'm intrigued that there are still people in Amigaland that are untouched by this Amiga Inc/OS4 coupon farce and the later Amiga Inc vs. Genesi supporter group fight, that has been going on for the last few years on moobunny and ann.lu.

Come to think of it, it took me quite a few tries before I understood not to put any more money into any future "Amiga replacement":
- supported AInc with $50 -> was basically ripped off - 3 years and now another company fulfills the t-shirt promise :-D
- bought Amithlon for a hefty sum -> whoops, the whole project died pretty soon afterwards -> me with an unsupported (and perhaps illegal) product in my shelf
- bought a Pegasos with april 2 (400e, was it?) -> had it for a couple of years, MOS development stagnated and I sold it off when I got tired of waiting.. Now in the end of last year, a few MOS devs basically ruined any chance of MOS ever seeing version 1.5, Pegasos is in effect a Linux platform now.

Nowadays I only buy stuff for the Classic Amiga, other believers can continue fueling the dream factories. :-)

There was another thing: the party pack another $100 scammed from "true believers" by AI.
As for the mos front those few mos devs who ruined it were actually not paid for their work and they said to sod the whole lot. I agree with them, sorry, people shouldn't expect anyone working for free when it is contract work, not voluntarily. Ironically enough previously Genesi helped ex-amiga employees suing AInc for exactly the same thing, "forgetting" about payment, social security and other unnecessities of life.
www.morphos.net

For the record I am not partial with either os4 or mos.
For me tt is truly sad the only way amiga makes into the news is various scams the various companies drag the once shiny name into, only to make it change hands every few years for yet another deluded pipe dream.

Enough of this shit (on all involved sides!), we'd better stay with our real classic amigas, uae, caps, whdl and enjoy what we have, possibly being the only ones who can still enjoy the amiga scene.

Yes. Best not think about the current situation too much over here - it's just not worth it.

Whoa.. I just found the shirt, still sealed in the envelope it came in. I decided I'd never open it.

In the meanwhile, things have changed, at least MorphOS continued to live on. I lost track of whether anyone rebated the $50 for OS4 though, as I stuck to my 68k only decision.

Anyone wanna buy my still-sealed shirt? ;-)

LOL; thank you my friend. That's exactly was what I was after

I didn't realise that it was still in the original "postage" packaging; thought you had it in say "clear" packaging possibly showing the t-shirt...

Now thanks to Korodny you can actually see what's inside your unopened package without to use of those X-Ray goggles that I sold you many moons ago (obviously for a different purpose)

Yeah.. :-) I'm not sure if there's a plastic bag around it inside, at least it feels like the shirt is in there without any additional wrapping.

I will never know. :-D
