Supercars remake final
Just to inform you that Supercars 3 is considered to be in final state.
A few bugs remain, maybe it would require some tuning, well, you can try it at: http://perso.orange.fr/jotd/supercars3/ |

Probably great work on This game and Gods. I'm no fan of these games, so won't try them... but a suggestion is to put some screenshots on your page for each game so people can see what they look like before downloading.

Does it use any data from Super Cars International aka Super Cars 3?
I read that version had much more colour and new features etc that could have been done on the A1200. But it was only released for DOS sadly. http://www.mobygames.com/game/supercars-international Great Job by the way |

Hey JOTD, nice work with the update, you've managed to improve it a load after every release
I think it needs tweaking slightly : - turning speed is slightly too fast - when you nitro, you stay in the air for aaaaaages - even on stage 3 / easy mode, computer cars are FAR faster than you, pretty difficult, almost impossible to catch up! - with ram at 3 its a piece of piss to break cars who have no armor, and if they have armor its like trying to bash a brick wall with your fists - no supercars 1 in-game music tracks! I think it'd be cool to have the easy mode start off with the older games music tracks (like the first supercars) , and then kinda move through the magnetic fields games chronologically ... even though theyre good, I'm unsure on the jaguar tunes ;E oh and... maybe even a lil weapons counter so you know how many ... whatever you have left (like on supercars international) ah, yeah- maybe have the background music a lil louder as default... and allow users to set the levels in the options :> ... just tweaks really.... its looking pretty damn good though! |

Thanks for all the comments.
EmuChicken, remarks noted down. The game needs tuning you're right. Yes, game uses data from Supercars international, mostly title screen & comm screens. I also used colors from SC international for cars. Ok, link is dead because assholes from orange suspended it without notice. Ok, now it's time to change my provider. In the meantime, the games & demos are available there: http://jotd.free.fr/remakes/supercars3/ http://jotd.free.fr/remakes/gods/ Last edited by jotd; 02 April 2007 at 21:24. |

Being a Java fan, I consider myself highly offended! What do you have against portability, simplicity, open source and OOP? Just download (and install) a JRE and use the included bat or sh file to start the game. I could play the game at work on my windoze desktop and at home on my linux pc, so thumbs up to Java! ...and to jotd, of course! Great work, my friend. And thanks for providing the sources! |

Java is slow as sludge. Plus it means downloading an extra 15Mb, and then having a less secure system once it's installed. Why require an interpreter? even BASIC is normally compiled these days. Open source, how is that dependent on what language it is written in!? That's like saying Pascal is better than C because you can open source Pascal programs, that just doesn't make sense. Most languages support OOP, which is rather overrated IMHO anyway. Plus, since there is no Java for Amiga the portability of Java programs is thus rather limited.

I'm not much of a "java-fan" but the game works fine on my system with no problems.
