The Faerytale Adventure - Distorted Sound

Hi,
I bought my real A500 back in 1987 and I never ever came onto a non-distorted copy of "The Faerytale Adventure".
Why is the Intro sound-distorted all the time? Every ADF I checked out is distorted. On real Amigas or the WinUAE it sounds the same.
Hmm...
Is the Original Release distorted as well? I don't know. Maybe one can tell, who own the original DD.

Cheers,
Rick

bah dah dee dah dah doo daa dee dum.. grrrrrrrr...
It distorts on anything other than the A1000 (which plays the tune boot)

Get the HD patches (HD & Protection) from aminet, and apply them, it should take care of the sound (and other) issues.

This is probably the wrong forum to discuss this, but trying all 3 configurations on WInUAE's A1000 quickstart still results with the garbled sound. How would I go about matching a real A1000 boot ROM audio pointer behavior on WinUAE?

Sorry, I know it's not the point of the thread, but great game, especially for its time. There's sod all in the same style for the Amiga despite it's age (ie. was plenty of commercial life time in the amiga after its release for similar games), so just as well it does it well.

Shame the sequel never made it to the amiga though.

Did it ask for KS disk? If not, it wasn't proper A1000 emulation.

It also work fine the A500 if you only have 512k chip RAM and no other memory.

No, it does not. Title music is still glitchy. Note that you must power up the Amiga and directly boot to the game. Doing anything between will invalidate the test.

I think the most impressive thing here is that David Joiner (Talin) appears to have been a one man team for the game!

An Amiga classic and the 2nd RPG I ever played right behind Zelda. Unbelievable experience for my 14yr old mind

Indeed!!

I follow him on Google+. He seems to be doing a Faery Tale 'eske game in his spare time.. Or its the thing he talked about in the EAB interview..

Either way

Yeah a follow up.. I remember buying the square boxed version on Faery Tale in Virgin Megastore. Had Book 1 on it...
Thought it was a follow up..
I emailed him about it a few years ago and it was re-released to possibly make a book 2. But Microillusions went pop!

I tried several things and got it to work. My copy of Faery Tale Adventures also seems to guru without slow memory.

Usual cause is enabled external drives.

Hi,
Some quoted A1000-game problem.
Others crack-game problem.

For the ones who are hooked on that game here's the PC-sequel to FTA:
http://www.abandonia.com/en/games/306
It's the full version with sound and vids. (270 Mb size)

The creator of FTA, David Joiner aka Talin, was present in the FTA2-production.

Cheers,
Rick
