Wow, I seriously never thought there would be any money in the old ZX ever again but damn if they are not going to try to give it a go.
Crap is it really 30 years ago? |

I have the Elite Spectrum app on my ipod touch, games come in packs of 6/12 and cost somewhere between 59p and now around 1.99. You can't access the CLI so I am not sure how much power and control you will get with the device if Elite are controlling it.
Hopefully it will be opened up. |

When I first saw this I was well excited, but after reading it a couple of times it appears to be a speccy-styled keyboard connected to an emulator. While this may be excellent fun, it still isn't a 'real' speccy
Now, if you want to see someone who's reverse-engineered the speccy, check out this link: http://www.zxdesign.info/ He's done a cracking job of building a speccy from scratch using a ULA and a CPLD-FPGA. In the meantime, I'll carry on with my Sinclair collection: 1 x ZX80 2 x ZX81 2 x ZX Spectrum 48k 1 x ZX Spectrum+ (128k) 1 x ZX Spectrum +2 (128k) - The one with the built-in tape deck 1 x ZX Spectrum +3 (128k) - The one with the built-in disc-drive I'll keep praying for a brand new Speccy release (along with my prayers for a new Amiga release!!) |

Is this actually verified anyway? Given the author calls the Speccy a console which used floppy disks, I'm wondering how accurate. Might he just be getting mixed up with Elite's iPhone apps? I can't see anything about this on Elite's website.

I own a +2 myself - the Light Gun Pack edition (Spectrum +2 with Operation Wolf, Robot Attack, Bullseye, Toy Bizarre and 2 other games). Are you sure this is the year 2011? Regards, Lonewolf10 |

I've still got a Spectrum 48k on me. but it's lacking power supply, video cables. would love to boot it up again to play Frank N Stein, Ruby Runabout, BoulderDash, Jetpac, Sabrewolf.

Have you tried emulation though, some emulators are pretty good and load a lot faster? |
