Just want to add my innermost thanks to Crashdisk for creating this excellent tool which makes it a lot easier to sort collections in order to locate "new" demos/scene productions for Bitworld. Hopefully, with new TOSEC releases, it will become even more efficient (adding all disk images from amigascne.org to the database would also be extremely helpful for me ...

Hi people,
it's time to release a beta version of ADF-Workshop.
It's a beta so some functions might not work as expected (especially Renaming). Almost nothing has changed compared to the last version but some functions have been rewritten, the ADF databases are incompatible with the 2015 version (v11 > v12) in order to expand the possibilities of identification with in particular the support of Warp files (without decompression and MFM not supported). As a gift, you can make your own databases and why not, publish them here!
Just launch the "!DB_Maker_v12.0" tool and choose a folder containing uncompressed ADF files (the search is recursive in the child folders). A database "Last_ADF_File.db" will be generated (and must renamed/placed in "database_ADF"). The latest TOSEC databases and my Non-TOSEC are included.
ABR v3/v4 databases supported and included.

Complete rewrite of the bootblock detection routines but as I did not finish transferring the old database, it remains supported and present. Warning, many new viruses detected !

Thank you for your feedback

VirusTotal analyse 6/68

Thanks for the update

Out of curiosity, why the decompression of .WRP to .ADF is not supported yet ?

It is planned or for some reason it can't be done ?

If it makes you feel better, I don't always understand myself

This is for several reasons:
- Few warp files available
- Unwarp works well
- Warp uses 4 different storage methods and 2 decompression routines are missing (different from DMS, it would be too easy...)
- ADF-WP can identify the content without decompressing so the interest is even less obvious
- It could be done one day but I probably use my time on something else.

Yes, thank you for the update! Will let you know if I come across any problems and perhaps make a few databases of whatever disk collections I can come across . Any idea when the existing v11 databases might be converted to the v12 format? (as some of them seem pretty useful).

Unfortunately no, you can't convert DB v11 to v12 because the data used is different. As, this is a beta version and I have provided a tool to generate your own databases, I didn't worry too much about this point

New beta in first post
- Updated exec database
- Updated bootblock database
- Added hardcoded detection of "Diavolo Backup" bootblock

Added Unrenamed Yori ADF database

Other databases will come later...

That's perfectly allright, Crashdisk, only asking. In the mean time, I decided to create some databases with the new tool (as I have a bad cold and generally needed to relax and not do mindtaxing stuff). There's quite a few of them in this

ftp://grandis.nu/~Uploads/curtcool/A...ollections.zip

In other words, I made databases from, among others: Danish Collection (my own), BS1 Collection, Dutch Collection, Austrian Collection, a few collections from Icycool, Skid Row Collection, Di3tz33 (or whatever) collection and a quite a few others. Probably useful for me, may not be for you. Would like a complete database of all adf/dms-files on amigascne.org too, but ... That's gonna be hard work ...

Thanks for sharing, it's interesting and I've already done it on my side but I don't share for some reasons....

For amigascne, it would be interesting, I do this work 2 or 3 times a year. My last dump is dated 2020-11-24.
I have also included Break's Amiga Demo Scene and Chip's ADA. The database will be published tomorrow with Unrenamed Warez if everything goes well

Hi people,
I added the links for 2 new db :
Unrenamed - WEBRip - Demo scene (v2021-04-25)
Unrenamed - Warez scene (v2021-04-18)

@curtcool
Wiroma is integrated in Warez scene DB

---------

Edit 2021-04-30 :

New beta in first post
- Updated exec database
- Adds the possibility to give the name of the database to the files it contains with the addition of the [UseDBName] flag at the end of the name of a database (now by default with the new version of DB_Maker)
