on-screen display questions

sometimes when playing games accessing cd-rom, on winuae on-screen display shows "N". see screenshot attached.
what does this "N" mean? and why is showing df1: a value althouhgh no df1: is configured? there is only df0: active.

N = network (uaenet/NIC hardware emulation). All drives are visible because they have always been visible

if network is an indicator for its own and floppy drives start after network led, then df0: shows value 03, why is there a value without floppyimage in drive? and why are drives df0:, df1: and df2: displayed green and the last one (df3:) displayed black? shouldn't be all not active / not available drives be black in this case? because only df0: is activated (available) in this configuration.
